OneCoast is collecting liquid paperboard cartons in the wider Dunedin and Clutha district and now sending them straight to be recycled! The recycling of the liquid paperboard cartons happens at SaveBOARD who turn them into sustainable building products for New Zealanders. See below for collection points and times for people to drop off their milk, juice and other liquid paperboard cartons.

Liquid paperboard cartons are recycled into sustainable building products including exposed and paper faced internal walls, rigid air barriers and ceiling tiles. SaveBOARD creates something beautiful from everyday packaging waste that would normally go to landfill and upcycles it into sustainable building products.

Get your liquid paperboard cartons recycling ready by making sure that they're cut open and completely clean. This means less unusable cartons at the end of the process, and frees up the OneCoast team to do more of the collecting and less of the cleaning!
Collection Points
Collection Points
All liquid paperboard cartons should be cleaned, flattened and cut open. The lid can stay on the carton, as this plastic acts as the glue when the liquid paper board is going through the recycling process. It's easy and only takes a few minutes to get them clean enough to become sustainable building products. Thanks for your help!

Please note that all collection points are available during individual operating hours only. Please do not leave liquid paperboard cartons outside these businesses outside of their opening hours.
If you are unable to drop off your liquid paperboard cartons to any of the collection points, or have any questions, don't hesitate to email recycling@onecoast.org and we will be able to help you get your liquid paper board cartons to us for recycling.
