OneCoast's Chairperson, Judy Martin was nominated for the prestigious Individual Environmental Excellence award at the 2020 Keep Dunedin Beautiful awards. She came Highly Commended for her active work in local community groups, including OneCoast. What a massive acknowledgement for the amazing work that Judy does for OneCoast and her community!

OneCoast has opened a shop at the Waikouaiti Transfer Station, which would enable more items from the transfer station to find new homes instead of ending up in landfill. This is a great example of community partnership in action, and the Dunedin City Council supporting the work done by community groups to promote sustainability and environmental action.

Our Community Facilitator, Leisa de Klerk, was the winner of the Jan Tucker Special Award at the Keep Dunedin Beautiful award ceremony for 2022, for her efforts in turning Dunedin into a liquid paperboard and recycling hub. This recycling network for lpb cartons in Dunedin has been recognised as the best in the country for this previously unrecyclable item.
